The Reverend Dr. Craig M. Whitcher, Senior Minister,
Dr. Whitcher is a graduate of Clark University, Andover Newton Seminary and the Boston University School of Theology. Over his career, Craig has developed professional ministry programs in youth spiritual development and Confirmation; small group and healing ministries; church re-organization and team ministry; and the recapturing of the historic role of Deacons. He has been an advocate and leader of mission group work experiences in the US and abroad.
He currently serves as the Chaplain for the Old Saybrook Fire Department and is on the Board of Directors for HOPE Partnership a non-profit organization dedicated to developing affordable workforce housing opportunities in the Shoreline communities of Middlesex County. Avocations include skiing, golf, wilderness canoeing, and he is a student of the American Civil War.
Cori is the new Minister of Children and Families. She graduated in May 2012 with a Masters in Arts and Religion while also receiving a Certificate in Youth and Young Adult Ministry. Cori was awarded the Herman L. Lutz Prize in Christian Education for her efforts. Cori has been a member of First Church for many years, and served on the Christian Education committee along with participating in two mission trips with the youth about eight years ago. Along with her experience in Christian Education, she also brings 15 years experience working with teenagers in various church settings.
