The Stability Triangle
The primary purpose of the Stability Triangle is to grow, equip, and deploy ministers. They manage the process by which ministries are born and turned loose in the world. The Personnel/Human Resources/Pastoral Relations Teams guide the processes of personal growth, spiritual discernment, and continuing education which lie behind leadership development and accountability (some of this training and education may be transferred to the Spiritual Growth Mission Group). They monitor the expressions of discontent that inevitably emerge in a dynamic organization. The Staff Team guides the processes for training and coaching leaders for spiritual discipline and skills development. They equip leaders for excellence. The Trustees Team manages the day‑to‑day life of the congregation. They administer the budget and manage resources to deploy ministries effectively within and beyond the church.
The three teams of the stability triangle will meet regularly, perhaps monthly, through the year. Their agendas will vary among congregations and communities, but will routinely include fundamental elements related to growing, equipping, and deploying ministry leaders.
