Many community groups meet regularly at First Church, including Weight Watchers, Alanon, Narcotics Anonymous, a Breast Cancer support group, scouts and others. The congregation also supports community programs including the annual Torchlight Parade and Crop Walk. The church serves as a Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries grocery distribution site and houses the Community Cooperative Preschool.
